In The News
Plant It Again is an Elite Dixie Belle Retailer
Did you know… drought-tolerant plants such as succulents, cacti, and ground cover cannot be composted?
Olivia, 16-year-old Founder of Plant It Again, didn't know. "Why are you throwing those away?" she asked when she saw her mom tossing aside some cuttings. Mom replied, “Because, honey, I’ve run out of friends and neighbors to share them with.” What a waste!
At that moment an idea was born, a seed that started the movement to give plants that were destined for the landfills a second chance: Plant It Again!
Big Plans
Plant It Again has big plans with your donated yard cuttings and plants. They’ll also accept your old gardening tools, pots, and other items to be refurbished and sold to raise funds. And that’s not the only second chance that Plant It Again offers to our community.
Providing Job Opportunities and Training
Who will be bringing new life and transformation to these rescued treasures from your garage? Olivia and her Mom will be assisted by their talented Team Members—mostly adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. These hard-working, eager community members can find meaningful employment while performing tasks they enjoy. In their effort to integrate this long-overlooked segment of society, Plant It Again is partnering with local non-profit organizations such as Options for All, San Diego to provide much-needed job training. At Plant It Again, Team Members can work at the pace their abilities allow. This gives them a sense of pride in their work, the opportunity to learn necessary skills to flourish in the workplace, and the paycheck to show for it.
